Our New Four-Legged Family Member

Introducing Sadie
Introducing Sadie

Ever since we have been married we have wanted a dog but the timing was never right.  Well,  we have decided that sometimes if the timing isn’t right you just have to make it right!  Over the last two weeks we have been researching dog breeds, breeders, and all that goes along with fine furry friends.  We decided to go with the family favorite and American Kennel Club’s most popular breed, the Labrador Retriever.  This will be our first pooch and we thought there was no better way to start.  (Okay… the cuteness of the pups had something to do with it too).

Today we met the breeder and got to select the newest member of our family (of the four-legged variety).  Introducing Sadie (formerly known as, Tinkerbell) our chocolate lab.  She will be coming home on December 14th.

National Adoption Month

November was officially declared “National Adoption Month” in 1995 (Neat History Here).  So we are using this opportunity to reach out to our network and remind you to pray for all those on the journey of adoption.  We also want to take this chance to refresh you on our outreach program.  Remember,  you can have a powerful effect on building adoptive families.

Our Outreach Program

An outreach program is a proactive way that we can spread the word about our adoption plan in hopes of finding prospective birth parent(s). There are a ton of benefits to an outreach program. To us, the most important is the connection. A referral is a great place to start any friendship. Reducing the degrees of separation helps us form a connection with the birth parent(s).

How does an Outreach Program work?

1. Pray. “And Jesus answered saying to them, ‘Have faith in God.’” Mark 11:22. Read the rest of this chapter for a tasty morsel 🙂

2. Share. We need you to spread the word. Share this post, our blog, and our story with your friends and family. Remember “hisplanourpath.com”

Share our adoption profile: (click here)

3. Speak. Be ready for a conversation. If you are close to someone who is facing an unplanned pregnancy and is considering adoption, you can refer them to the following link. We are on the approved waiting families list. (Families Looking to Adopt)
