Come to Me

These last few weeks we have been enjoying the summer completely.  This summer has been full of hikes, school, work, and surgery for the both of us.  Among the typical busy days of a Minnesota summer, we have had some ups and downs in our adoption journey.

As an any adoptive couple can attest, these periods of waiting are not without excitement and heartache.  One of the challenging things we have found about this blog is there are so many private things that go along with adoption that can’t be shared.  Between respecting the privacy of birth-parents and not wanting to cause excitement resulting in let down,  some of the ups and downs we have kept very private.

While we can’t share the specifics of the events over the last few months, we can tell you that our God has been present.  When our hearts are full and excited, He feels near and beckons reminders of his faithfulness.  When our hearts are let down,  He breaths comfort and consolation.  An atheist might accuse us of clinging to our religion for emotional refuge.  But we tell you this.  God is our anchor in the wind and the waves.  He does not always provide answers but He always provides peace when we ask for it.  Yes, Jesus is a faithful friend.

Here is a song that has been a favorite on our playlists lately.  Specifically this line hits so close to home; “Don’t look to the right or to the left, keep your eyes on me. You will not be shaken, you will not be moved.  I am the hand to hold, I am the truth, I am the way. Just come to me, come to me Cause I’m all that you need”
