Minneapolis Aquatennial

Brought our girls out to the Fireworks at the Minneapolis Aquatennial.  Great music and awesome food.  Summertime in Minnesota.   Cram it in before the snow flies!

Ice cream date

image

Tonight we decided to enjoy a beautiful Minnesota summer evening over ice cream from Licks in Excelsior.  On our walk along the shore of Lake Minnetonka we stopped to sit at a picnic table and snapped this photo.  One of our favorite verses was scribed on the table.  Jeremiah 29:11 was the inspiration for the name of our last blog.

There are times when God makes himself known, little winks in your day.  We thank Him for reminding us he is near.  His presence is warm and comforting.  We cherish moments like tonight.

New Social Worker

We met recently with our new adoption social worker from Catholic Charities.  We spent some time getting to know each other at one of our favorite places, Caribou Coffee ;-).  She has a great skill set to offer and will be an awesome person to walk this journey with.

There have also been a few other changes at our agency with a new birth parent social worker starting and a new staff member joining the post-adoption counseling team.  We look forward to an upcoming networking night with them and an opportunity to meet a well known adoption outreach specialist Hal Kaufman.  Hal is the founder of My Adoption Advisor and his mission is “To help families connect with the right birth parents more quickly and safely.”  You can find out more about Hal and his organization here: http://www.myadoptionadvisor.com/about/founder/

An Act of Consecration for the U.S.

Most Holy Trinity: Our Father in heaven, Who chose Mary as the fairest of Your daughters; Holy Spirit, Who chose Mary as Your spouse; God the Son, Who chose Mary as Your mother; in union with Mary, we adore Your majesty and acknowledge Your supreme eternal dominion and authority.

Most Holy Trinity, we put the United States of America into the hands of Mary Immaculate in order that she may present the country to You. Through her we wish to thank You for the great resources of this land and for the freedom which has been its heritage. Through the intercession of Mary, have mercy on the Catholic Church in America. Grant us peace. Have mercy on our President and all the officers of our government. Grant us a fruitful economy born of justice and charity. Have mercy on capital and industry and labor. Protect the family life of the nation. Guard the innocence of our children. Grant the precious gift of many religious vocations. Through the intercession of our Mother Mary, have mercy on the sick, the poor, the tempted, sinners–on all who are in need.

Mary, Immaculate Virgin, Our Mother, Patroness of our land, we praise you and honor you and give ourselves to you. Protect us from every harm. Pray for us, that acting always according to you will and the Will of your Divine Son, Jesus, we may live and die pleasing to God. Amen.
