The Home-study 1/3

We had our first home-study today.  The intention of the home-study is to gather social-medical history from the adoptive parents.   Going in we were not sure what to expect.  It actually ended up being a really nice experience.  We spent two hours telling our wonderful social worker about our families, what growing up was like, how we met, what our relationship is like, ect.  It was a great opportunity to take an inventory of our past and remember the last ~10 years of our relationship.  It truly gave us a deep appreciation for how loving our families are, how much we love each other, and how good our God is.
We wrapped up the evening at our favorite Vietnamese restaurant Quang.  It couldn’t have been a better night.

Getting Ready for Our Adoption Photo Shoot

During the summer I started finding lots of great adoption ideas on Pinterest.  One of the ideas was to do an adoption photo shoot.  I loved this idea from the start as I had previously been pinning ideas for a someday maternity photo shoot.  There are so many cute ideas on Pinterest for adoption!

The next step was finding a photographer.  While at my favorite coffee shop (Mocha Monkey in Waconia… a.k.a “my happy place”) this summer I met a gal that works there who also does photography.  We contacted her this Fall and have scheduled our adoption photo shoot for Oct. 20th at the Arboretum.  We are super excited!

Today I found a new pin on Pinterest with this onesie.  We purchased one to use for a cute photo idea.
